The Project:

The legendary celebration at the end of the academic year, a time for students to celebrate what they have achieved, Summer Ball occurs every year at Imperial College and is a core memory for most students of their time at University.

The Problem:

The branding needed to be simple yet eye catching, complex and memorable. Cheap in production but convey high quality. A brand which can be reused and developed on a yearly basis, remain flexible in it’s presentation and appliance but still remain recognisable. Contain the ability to adapt to any format and layout.

Logo

Re-adjusting to the 2022 version of the logo, the current design dismisses the queen’s tower and fireworks and applies a more simplified, hand make feel with more forgiving edges and structure. The design of the logo can be adjusted to any format and size, allowing for more flexibility in it’s use.

Creative Direction

The creative direction provides an abstract approach to the look and feel. Allowing for a more adaptive design, making it more suitable for a wide range of collateral and content of the ever changing themes of Summer Ball.

Visual Characteristics

The visual design can be used as an addition to the main content. It makes the artwork adaptive to any layout and can be adjusted based on the collateral. Content first, visuals second.
